Anyone patiently waiting for “moderate Muslims” to condemn the extremism of literal interpreters of the Q’uran will not be made happy by this analysis by Islam scholar Robert Spencer.
Patience and “tolerance” must have limits. And once those limits are exceeded, action must be taken. America has been lulled into passivity, a state of collective mind that government and academic liberals created, a submission to and undiscussable fear of a violent religious zealotry. Liberals have convinced a disturbing number of Americans that fundamentalist Islamists practice just another sort of okay religion no different from the common Christian. “Progressives” teach our children in schools to “appreciate” the “differences” exhibited by all peoples, all cultures, no matter how violent or perverse, no matter how potentially devastating to the American way of life.
Will America reach a limit of tolerance, of patience, or will we gradually, but utterly surrender to values-corrupting, mushy, multicultural relativism? Anyone who think this an overreaction to the current state of affairs would find it eye-opening to engage the almost endless material on the web regarding the disintegration of Danish and English cultures at the hand of Islamism. For a particularly good treatment, I suggest chapters eight and nine of Diana West’s The Death of the Grown-Up.
